6 am  by Spirit'n'Jazz

In this track you can feel human impatience at 6 am in the city. Everyone starts to fight their way through the busy city life. Honking cars clog the streets, pedestrians are rushing across, the subway is full of people.

Passing a park you can feel a little of the peace of nature. Birds singing, bees humming, life awakening to the sunlight. But turn around the corner and you find yourself in the rush again.

Is this our human nature or is it a wrong way of life?

In the major world religions we find clues on this subject:

In Buddhism patience is regarded as one of the most important things in life. It is connected to compassion and understanding. It is a lifestyle, the way to find out what life is really about.

In Islam patience is regarded a great virtue and is mentioned in many places in the Qur'an, like in surah 3:17: "Those who show patience, firmness and self-control; who are true; who worship devoutly; who donate; and who pray for forgiveness in the early hours of the morning."

In Christianity patience is linked to love: Paul says in the passages of 1 Corinthians 13:4: "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant."

All these quotes from different religions are pointing in the same direction. If we understand these spiritual tips, our mornings in the city could be a little more peaceful, our lives could be more joyful and our wars could no longer be regarded as necessary.

As with all of their works, Spirit'n'Jazz have chosen quotes from world-religions and philosophies to inspire discussion.
