The love of today

Is there some sense in these days of misgivings?
Is there a God who loves us still?
Is there a peace that will come to the living?
Is there a light high on a hill?

Is there a rock on which we may be standing?
Is there a truth still left to find?
Is there a sign for the lost and the lonely?
Is there a way for all mankind?

But the love of today is the hope for tomorrow
And the promise of peace in our hearts
For the spirit of love takes our pain and our sorrow
And the light in our hearts will shine on

So I will offer my hand as we journey
I want to be by your side
So let my heart reach out as we find the new way
